Lucy is an experienced yoga teacher who does her best to make you feel at home and her homemade organic food is really delicious. I highly recommend Yoga Najac.

This has been a wonderfully rejuvenating and inspiring yoga retreat! I can highly recommend both the beautiful village of Najac as well as our host and yoga instructor Lucy. She is one of the most versatile and knowledgeable yoga instructors I have met in my long yoga life, both as a yoga student and a yoga teacher. Thanks Lucy for the best possible start into 2020.

A holistic flavour of France.

I offer private bespoke retreats for all abilities from beginners to teachers, in an untouched corner of south west France, a region bathed in heritage, culture and nature.

All practices are based on gentle yoga, meditation and mindfulness, and are tailored to meet the needs & desires of those present. I will craft the perfect retreat of between 4 and 8 days at a time that works for you. Groups will be between 2 and 6 people.

In addition to four hours of daily teaching, you will have plenty of time to reconnect to yourself and to nature.

My home and studio is in medieval Najac, classed as "one of France's most beautiful villages" with a 12th-century fortress perched on a hilltop above the Aveyron river gorge. It is a fabulous location with the peace and quiet of the countryside plus a village with shops, cafés and restaurants. There’s also a train station with six daily trains from Toulouse.

On our doorstep, there’s wonderful walks, wild swimming, kayaking, horse-riding and cycle touring or mountain biking. I can also organise a variety of relaxing and restorative massages.

€125 per person/day for 4hrs of teaching and organic meals.

Accommodation from €30 to €90 per person/night.

When do you want to come?

Come in spring for the orchids and wild flowers, early summer for the strawberries and asparagus, autumn for figs and nuts, or winter for cosy evenings in front of the fire.

What would you like to focus on?

My retreats are tailor-made to meet your needs. Are you looking to find calm in a crazy world? Do you need to learn skills to enhance health and well-being? Would you like to deepen your practice with mindfulness? Are you a woman going through a life transition and looking for hormonal rebalance? Do you need to reconnect with yourself and nature? I can meet your personal development needs by crafting a restorative journey at a time of your choosing.

I did a 4 days retreat with my boyfriend at Lucy’s and I highly recommend it ! She not only has knowledge of yoga and mindfulness or meditation but also of the Alexander Technique. The studio is very nice with a deck that is perfect for the morning session in summer. Najac is a beautiful village to visit and there are plenty of hikes around if you feel like it - otherwise Lucy’s pool is very nice for a lazy day. All in all we spent a very nice time and have plenty of new habits/ exercises that we are trying to carry on in our everyday life to feel better thanks to Lucy !

Mindfulness. At the heart of my practice and my retreats.

Mindfulness is when we have an intention to focus our attention on what is going on internally  – our thoughts, emotions, and sensations, as well as externally in the world around us, in the present moment and without making any value judgements.   It has its roots in the teachings of Buddha as an awareness of our thoughts, actions and motivations.

Mindfulness is something which is intrinsic to yoga, meditation and the Alexander Technique.

8 attitudes of mindfulness

Non-judgement
Self-compassion
Acceptance
Letting go
Non-striving
Equanimity
Self-reliance
Beginner’s mind

The benefits of mindfulness

Increased awareness of self;
Increased feeling of connection;
A greater resilience to stress;
Improved health and well-being;
Tools to manage chronic pain;
More likely to feel happy and content.

Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.
— The Bhagavad Gita

Lucy has so much knowledge about yoga! She gives you personal advise on how to integrate yoga in your average day in normal life, which makes it more likely to hold up the good ideas and intentions. The surrounding is great for walks. I was stressed when I arrived, but after 4 days really relaxed. Altogether I enjoyed my stay and it made the best New Year start ever!
